Women can see an OB-GYN at any age for any gynecologic complaint. It is recommended an initial health screening be scheduled between 13-15 years of age as a general “meet and greet” session, unless there are specific issues.

Cervical cancer screening begins at age 21, unless you have a weakened immune system due to HIV/AIDs or are taking medication to suppress your immune system.

You can call your OB-GYN’s office as soon as you think you are pregnant to establish prenatal care.

From birth control through pregnancy and childbirth to menopause, our board-certified OB-GYNs help their patients with reproductive health care throughout their lives.

Our OB-GYNs treat an array of conditions, including infertility, menopause, hormonal disorders, sterilization or termination of pregnancy, reproductive-related cancers and incontinence. We also coordinate prenatal genetic counseling. Check with your health care provider about the services available at your medical center.

For the women of Central and West Oahu, an array of OB-GYN specialists is conveniently located at Pali Momi.

The ultrasound program ensures all exams are performed under the direct supervision of and interpreted by GYN ultrasound-trained physicians. Ultrasounds are offered for common conditions such as:

• Abnormal bleeding.
• Irregular cycles.
• IUD complications.
• Leiomyoma.
• Postmenopausal bleeding.
• Polycystic ovaries.
• Pain and discomfort.
• Other anomalies of the uterus.

GYN Ultrasound Tests
A sonohystogram procedure can identify abnormal growths inside the uterus, such as fibroids or polyps.

This procedure also can detect scarring inside the uterus and abnormal uterine shape.

OB Ultrasound
OB ultrasound services are provided by our maternal fetal medicine specialists who also provide ultrasound services at our sister facility, the Kapiolani Fetal Diagnostic Center in Honolulu.

Maternal fetal medicine specialists are physicians with specialized training and experience in the care of pregnant women and their fetuses, including high-risk pregnancies. Our team of experts are dedicated to ensuring that your ultrasound services are provided in a safe and comfortable environment.
