Adherence to recommended mammography schedules is a critical factor in reducing deaths due to breast cancer. Early detection with annual mammogram screenings is the best defense against breast cancer. The American College of Radiology (ACR) recommends annual mammograms for all women starting at age 40, or younger if there is a history of breast cancer in your family.
