Michelle Emura’s father was diagnosed with cancer and she became his immediate caregiver and advocate. In support of him, Michelle started an annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Unfortunately, her father succumbed to the disease a few years later.
Just two months after losing her father, Michelle was shocked to find a lump and was soon diagnosed with stage four Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After exploring all her options, Michelle decided that her best outcomes would come from receiving her care at Wilcox, surrounded with the healing love and support of family and friends.
Michelle has recently finished treatment, is cancer free and lives on her farm with partner Daryl Kaneshiro. Her experience has inspired a renewed outlook on life.
