Wilcox Medical Center has received the 2024 Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award™. This is the second year in a row that Wilcox has received this distinction. It recognizes the top 10% of hospitals evaluated by Healthgrades that excel in providing high-quality patient care while preventing serious injuries during hospital stays.
According to Healthgrades, if all hospitals in the U.S. performed similarly to the 2024 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ recipients, more than 97,000 patient safety events between 2020 and 2022 could have been avoided.
“Wilcox Medical Center is honored to receive this national recognition,” said Jen Chahanovich, president and CEO of Wilcox Medical Center and CEO of Kauai Medical Clinic. “We are committed to providing high-quality care to our community and this distinction demonstrates our dedication to clinical excellence.”
In addition to the Patient Safety Excellence Award™, Healthgrades gave Wilcox a five-star rating for hip fracture treatment for the third year in a row (2022-2024).
