Hawaii's Credit Unions Exceed Campaign Goal by Raising $536,444 for Kapiolani Medical Center
Hawaii’s Credit Unions created a fundraising initiative in 2013 named “5 in 5” that represented a five-year goal to raise $500,000 for the Campaign for Hawaii’s Children in support of Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. Now less than four years later, Hawaii’s Credit Unions have surpassed the goal and recently presented Kapiolani with a check for $536,444.

Blue Distinction Centers are nationally designated health care facilities shown to deliver improved patient safety and better health outcomes, based on objective measures developed with input from the medical community.
Wilcox Medical Center Named Among Top 100 U.S. Rural and Community Hospitals
Wilcox Medical Center is the only Hawaii-based hospital named among the Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals in the U.S. for 2017 as researched and determined by the National Rural Health Association's Rural Health Policy Institute, iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Center for Rural Health.
Straub Joins Forces with More Than 500 Organizations to Increase Colorectal Cancer Screening Rates Nationwide
Straub Medical Center recently made the pledge to help increase colorectal cancer screening rates by supporting the “80% by 2018” initiative led by the American Cancer Society, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (an organization co-founded by ACS and CDC). More than 500 organizations have committed to substantially reducing colorectal cancer as a major public health problem, and are working toward the shared goal of 80 percent of adults ages 50 and older being regularly screened for colorectal cancer by 2018.
Hawaii Pacific Health Receives National Award for Health Information Technology
Hawaii Pacific Health was recently named a recipient of the HIMSS Enterprise Davies Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in health information technology. Established in 1994, the Davies Awards program promotes electronic health record-enabled improvement in patient outcomes through sharing of case studies and lessons learned across a wide range of efforts.
