Bringing together women of all ages in an effort to create a healthier Hawaii, the 42nd annual Hawaii Pacific Health Women’s 10K and 5K Fun Run is set to take place on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Kapiolani Park.
The first and only all-female sanctioned race champions women while celebrating fitness and good health.
The 10K takes participants on a 6.2-mile route around Diamond Head and through Kahala, returning to Kapiolani Park for after-race festivities. Also offered are a 5K fun run and virtual 10K where people can register to do their own 10K for a finisher’s shirt and medal.
“Hawaii Pacific Health is proud to offer this event for the 42nd year,” said Martha Smith, CEO of Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children and regular race participant. “We have mothers and daughters, students, work colleagues, military members, best friends and visitors who make this event an annual tradition. The spirit in which women of all ages and fitness levels come together for this event each year really embodies the spirit behind our mission of creating a healthier Hawaii.”
The start times of the runs are staggered, with the 10K starting at 6:30 a.m. and the 5K starting at 6:50 a.m. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in the following divisions: Overall, Stroller, School Challenge, Corporate Challenge, Hawaii Pacific Health Employees and Age Division (starting from 14 and under to 80 and over – awards to be presented to age groups with five or more entrants).
All finishers will receive a rose, finisher’s shirt, commemorative medal and giveaway bag.
