Pali Momi Medical Center presents its annual Family Health Fair, a free health education event for the community, on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Pali Momi Medical Center and Pali Momi Medical Pavilion. Activities and information will also be offered from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pali Momi Wellness Station at Pearlridge Center Uptown.
Located on the second level of Pearlridge Center Uptown, the Wellness Station promotes healthy, active lifestyles for children and families through education, exercise and eating right. As part of this year’s Pali Momi Family Health Fair, the Wellness Station will feature a “blender bike,” a pedal-powered, smoothie-making blender bike. Free smoothies will be available while supplies last. Staff will also be on hand to provide information about Pali Momi’s Comprehensive Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Program.
From 8 to 11 a.m., the medical center will provide free health screenings, keiki activities and educational information on a variety of topics, including:
- Advanced surgical technology
- Balance and posture assessments
- Blood pressure, cholesterol, colorectal and diabetes screenings
- Foot care
- Heart health
- Home safety devices
- Lung health
- Managing medications and herbal supplements
- Prostate health information
- Skin cancer prevention
- Stroke prevention
- Vision testing/glaucoma screening
- Keiki face and body painting
- Keiki injury prevention
- Teddy bear clinic
At the pavilion, health information and activities featured will include:
- Breast health
- Height, weight and body fat testing
- Healthy food demonstrations (8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.)
- Women’s Center tours
- Women’s strength testing
Free shuttle service will be provided for guests between the medical center, pavilion and Pearlridge Uptown.
The Pali Momi Health Fair is provided as a community service by Pali Momi Medical Center, a member hospital of Hawaii Pacific Health.
